What does this mean for my Clipper Product? Plants naturally absorb lead from the soil, the environment and the groundwater during their growth, the same way other minerals and nutrients do. Lead is one of the 900 chemicals on the list of the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986. It occurs naturally in soil and water but is also released from modern industrial production techniques and exhaust fumes from cars, planes etc … We never add any lead to any of our teas, nor is it a by-product of our blending process. Unfortunately there is no known process to remove lead from plant material at the present time. Therefore, lead may be detected not only in herbs, but also in other food produce. However, it is important to note, the small levels of detection do not outweigh the nutritional benefits of the other compounds present in these healthy produce.
